Images for Projected Digital Image competitions will look best on the club projector in the sRGB colour space. Here's how to check, and if necessary convert, your image colour space (use a copy because this may permanently change it);
Open your image in Photoshop and choose File/Save As. One of the save options is an ICC Profile. If this says sRGB then the correct colour space is already in place for this image.
If another profile is shown (eg Adobe RGB 1998) then cancel the dialogue box and go to;
- Edit/Convert to Profile/Destination Space/sRGB (Photoshop CS2 & CS3)
- Image/Mode/Convert to Profile//Destination Space/sRGB (Photoshop CS)
- Image/Convert Color Profile/Apply sRGB Profile (Photoshop Elements 4, 5 & 6)
- Edit Color Settings/Limited Color Management (Photoshop Elements 3)
...similar options may exist if you use another version or program.
Finally save the image using File/Save As and ensure that the ICC Profile option is ticked.
Advice on setting up your system to avoid this problem and maintain consistent colour is available on the digital and mono page.
