Having prepared an image in Photoshop, select File/Save As.., choose a location for the file, then select JPEG as the Format and enter your particular 'IMAGE NAME by Author Name' as the File Name (the program will enter the .jpg ending automatically for you). Click Save and in the pop-up window set the slider to maximum quality/largest file then click OK.

Alternatively if your image file has already been prepared and you just need to re-name it, you can select Start/My Documents or Start/My Computer. Having navigated to the image file right-click on it and select Rename. Now overtype the existing name with the new name ensuring that the .jpg ending is retained.

If you cannot see the three character endings such as .jpg in any of your files you need to turn this feature on. Start/My Documents/Tools/Folder Options/View then scroll down to the line 'Hide extensions for known file types' and untick it. Finally click Apply To All Folders and then OK.

Many email or imaging programs have features which send images by email or save them for the web automatically. It is best to avoid these for competition images because they often re-size and re-name them without asking you.
